School-Based Tuition Assistance

Discounts and need-based aid that come from the school itself: parishioner rates, sibling discounts, FACTS-based grants and payment plans.

After the ESA or STO scholarships, many Valley families still face a gap, especially at schools whose tuition is above the top of the ESA range. The school's own aid is the next place to look.

Catholic parishes in the Diocese of Phoenix commonly charge a lower rate to registered, active parishioners, and each pastor or school sets tuition. Lutheran and other congregational schools often do the same for church members. Ask for the rate sheet rather than the headline number.

Larger independent and college-prep schools run their own need-based aid, usually through FACTS or a similar service, with deadlines in winter for the following fall. Many schools also offer sibling discounts, faculty discounts and monthly payment plans that work around ESA deposits arriving quarterly.

Ask early how the school counts outside funding. Some schools apply ESA or STO money before calculating need; others want to see your account balance. And ask whether the school will invoice ClassWallet directly each quarter, which keeps you from fronting tuition.

Combining it with other sources

This source works alongside a school's own discounts and payment plans. The one hard limit in Arizona is that a child cannot hold an ESA and an STO scholarship in the same school year, so each child goes down one path, and siblings may go down different ones. Our funding check lays out the choice for each child.
