About Phoenix Edu Funding and our data

Who runs Phoenix Edu Funding, where our school and funding data come from, and what we do not do.

Phoenix Edu Funding is an independent guide for families in Maricopa and Pinal counties who want a private, faith-based, microschool or special-education seat and need to work out how to pay for it. We explain the Arizona ESA, the state's STO tax-credit scholarships and the smaller programs around them, using the agencies' own documents.

We are not a government agency, a school or an STO, and we do not decide awards. When a family uses our funding check, a School Funding Advisor calls back to walk through the options that fit their child.

Where the school data comes from

Federal survey data. Grades, enrollment, teacher counts and religious affiliation come from the U.S. Department of Education's Private School Survey (2023-24, with 2021-22 for schools that missed the latest round). 241 of our Valley schools have a federal record.

STO lists. We matched the published school lists of 11 Arizona School Tuition Organizations (Oct 2026) to those records. 82 schools appear only on STO lists, so we show only their name and city.

Association listings. ACSI, Cognia, NCEA, NAIS, ACCS and AMI memberships come from each group's public directory. Membership does not always mean accreditation; ask the school.

Profile pages. 194 schools get a full profile because the records say enough to be useful: federal enrollment and staffing, two or more STO lists, or an association listing. Every school still appears in the directory tables.

Funding facts. ESA amounts and rules come from ADE's funding chart and handbook and A.R.S. 15-2401 to 15-2404; STO limits and totals from the Arizona Department of Revenue.

For Valley specifics we rely on the Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Schools Office, Catholic Education Arizona, Maricopa Community Colleges, Maricopa County Head Start, Military OneSource for Luke AFB, and Arizona news coverage of ADE enrollment data. Neither public source reports tuition.

Arizona keeps no registry of private schools, so some are bound to be missing. Tell us about one and we will check the records and add it.

Phoenix Edu Funding is a project of Boss Leads. We are not a school, the Arizona Department of Education, ClassWallet, a School Tuition Organization, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix, Catholic Education Arizona, the Arizona Department of Education, or any School Tuition Organization, or a government agency.
